INTERACTIVE INTERMISSION

Ocean Filibuster features an interactive intermission—sometimes we describe it as part science fair, part circus. It features up to 5 experiences that travel with us, and 1 or more new hyper-local experiences that we create with community partners.

For the local station, we start the process with our presenting partner 4-6 months in advance of the performance. We have worked with a host of fantastic environmental groups, research centers, foundations, student groups and academic institutions to develop and fabricate these experiences. We get folx out of their silos by bringing together groups who rarely get to work together. Each process results in a new locally-focused interactive experience. We also create a list of local resources for each city: books, films, activities, and volunteer opportunities.
